Board

The Babcock & Brown Power (BBP) Board of Directors, comprising the Chairman and four Directors, has extensive financial, legal, commercial, management and infrastructure experience. The Board is majority independent with three independent Directors, being Len Gill (Chairman), Peter Kinsey and John Fletcher. The other Director is Ross Rolfe, the CEO (to be appointed shortly).

Lenn Gill

Mr Gill has extensive knowledge and over 28 years experience in the Australian energy industry. He is the former Chief Executive Officer of TXU Australia (now TRUenergy). Prior to his appointment as CEO, Mr Gill headed TXU's wholesale energy division for five years, which included general management responsibility for power generation and gas storage assets.

Mr Gill holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) degree and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

John Fletcher

Mr Fletcher is currently a Director of Integral Energy Australia based in Sydney. His recent experience includes Board positions with Foodland Associated Limited,The Australian Pipeline Trust and NGC Limited of New Zealand. He held a number of executive roles at The Australian Gas Light Company including that of CFO and has extensive experience of the energy industry.

Mr Fletcher has a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Business Administration. He is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Peter Kinsey

Mr Kinsey is the Regional Legal & Compliance Manager South Asia for the global ABB Limited Group and a Director of ABB Australia Pty Limited and ABB Limited (New Zealand). Mr Kinsey has been a corporate lawyer for over 25 years in a number of major corporations. Mr Kinsey  has been involved in the negotiation of various types of commercial contracts including power projects and transportation projects in a number of countries, including Australia, New Zealand, the United States, Sweden, Japan, China, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia and India. Mr Kinsey gives seminars on compliance and business ethics throughout Asia for ABB.

Prior to joining ABB, Mr Kinsey was General Counsel at David's Holdings Pty Ltd and prior to that Corporate Legal Manager of Alliance Holdings Ltd.

Mr Kinsey holds a Bachelor of Law, Graduate Diploma in Financial Management and a Master of Commerce.

Ross Rolfe

Ross Rolfe joined Babcock & Brown as a senior executive in July 2007, his role being of a strategic nature with a primary focus on Infrastructure (predominantly in Energy and Transport). He is also a member of the Board of Infrastructure Australia; member of the National Board of Infrastructure Partnerships Australia and a Non-Executive Director of WDS. Prior to joining Babcock & Brown, Ross held a range of Chief Executive Officer positions in the Queensland Government, including the Director General of the Department of the Premier and Cabinet, and in industry in Queensland, including CEO of Stanwell Corporation, one of Queensland’s largest energy generation companies. He was also the Co-ordinator General in Queensland – a position he held for six years. In this role Ross was responsible for the delivery of the South Queensland Regional Infrastructure Plan, the design and implementation of the Water Grid and the development of the Queensland Government’s Energy policies in 2000 and 2007. He is based in Sydney.
